South Valley Itinerary

Explore Tipon, Pikillacta and Andahuaylillas escorted by our highly trained staff: local tour guide and expert driver.

This tour starts and ends in Cusco city. We have departures every day of the year. In group tour 9:00 am – 2:00 pm and in private tour, you can start at any time in the morning and the last start time is at 11:00 am.

To start the Tipon, Pikillacta and Andahuaylillas Tour. We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 8:45 a.m., then, we will head south of Cusco.

First, we will visit the amazing Tipon archaeological site, where we will appreciate huge agricultural terraces and its excellent irrigation system. We will also see a beautiful temple where the vital liquid (water) was worshipped.

Then, we will continue our journey through a fertile valley to the Pikillacta archaeological site. It was one of the most important administrative and religious centers of the pre-Inca Wari culture. You will be astonished by its excellence and perfect urban planning.

Finally, we will visit the San Pedro de Andahuaylillas church “the Sistine Chapel of America”, built in the seventeenth century with a popular renaissance style facade, but the interior is a splendid example of the Baroque style with extraordinary ornamentation, work done by the Cusco school artists.

Finally, we will return to the city of Cusco, arriving approximately at 14:00 hours.

Note: The tour start time assigned in this itinerary is based on the group tour. If you take the private tour, you will decide the starting time of the tour and only on the private tour we will stop at the Huacarpay lagoon wetland to contemplate the biodiversity (ducks and other Andean birds).
