Qeswachaka Bridge Day Tour

Qeswachaka Bridge Day Tour .– This 1-day tour to the Inca Bridge of Qeswachaka will take you to know one of the little-known places on the route of the southern valley of Cusco, it is located above the Apurímac river to which it has a distance of 15 meters high. It belonged to the road network of the Qhapaq Ñan or Inca trail, it is one of the Inca bridges that still maintains its authenticity intact since it is made of puna straw or ichu. Around 1,000 residents of nearby communities are responsible for rebuilding it annually in June

The Qeswachaka Bridge is unique and for that reason we design a tour for you. It is made with vegetable fiber as part of the extensive network of Inca Trails. Qeswachaka is a very interesting full day excursion, come and be part of this incredible experience. Visit and walk the last Inca Quechua Bridge, which even the locals use today. The Inca bridge is restored by the locals every year in June and takes at least 3 days to be ready for use. Like our ancestors the Incas, the locals only use natural grass from the highlands and many hands to do it.

Places that we will visit on the tour to the last Qeswachaka bridge:

  • Quehue.
  • Qeswachaca Bridge.
  • Four Lagoons (Pomacanchi, Acopia, Asnaqcocha, Pampamarca).

There we will have time to explore and cross the Inca Bridge of Q’eswachaka, after having felt the adrenaline and crossing the bridge, your guide will narrate the story of this Inca engineering work, the process of construction and care of the Bridge.

Once the visit is finished, we will go back to Combapata where we will stop to enjoy lunch and have a digestive walk to the viewpoint where we will appreciate the Pampamarca and Asnacqocha lagoons, we will continue to another point of the viewpoint to appreciate the Acopia Pomacanchi lagoons, where we can appreciate a large amount of regional flora and fauna and an enriched Andean culture along the way.
