Itinerary Inca Trail Tour 4 Days

DAY 1: CUSCO – PISCACUCHO (KM 82) – WAYLLABAMBA

Muy temprano por la mañana te recogemos de tuWe start the adventure of your lifetime picking you up from your hotel at 6:00 to 6:30 am to start the trip by car to Ollantaytambo town. Two hours car ride where you have the chance to have breakfast. After we continue driving one more hour to the trailhead Km 82 / Piscacucho. While we drive to the beginning of the Inca trail, you will enjoy corn plantations, potato crops because the valley that we take to reach to km 82 is the sacred valley where most of the local people work on the farming. Once in the trailhead, we get ready to pass the first control point of the whole Inca trail. After we got an Inca trail stamp on your passport, we hike 2 hours to reach to Mesccay where we take a break also you have the chance to enjoy the local corn beer called Chicha. Then we continue hiking to the viewpoint of Llactapata ruins to explore and also to listing the explanation from the guide. We hike for 30 more minutes to make to the lunch spot to enjoy our delicious energy lunch. After lunch 2.5 more hour hiking to the campsite located in Huayllapampa where our crew of porters and cooks set up your camp. Time to enjoy hot tea time and dinner at the camp. The camp is located at 3000 m.

DAY 2: HUAYLLABAMBA – INCA TRAIL HIGHEST POINT – PACAYMAYO

The cooks will wake you up with hot coca tea early in the morning to complete the hardest day of the whole Inca trail successfully. After a nutritious breakfast, we get ready to start the trek up to the highest point of the entire Inca Trail 4212m/13818ft. 4 hours uphill hiking 9km/5ml. The trail begins at 3000 m to 4212 m through a beautiful path made of stones combining with nice Inka stairs which takes you to the pass of the Inca trail called – WARMICWAÑUSCAN. (Dead woman’s pass). If we get nice weather, we will see the overlooking views of the mountains that surround Machu Picchu and the sacred valley of the Incas. Then we start descending to the lunch spot 2 hours downhill trekking on the Inca steps we reach to the lunch place Pacaymayo where we have lunch also is the campsite, in the afternoon we provide you tea time then dinner to sleep at the camp call Pacaymayo — located at 3700 m.

DAY 3: PACAYMAYO – PHUYUPATAMARKA – WIÑAYWAYNA

Today is going to be the most beautiful day of the trek because you get the opportunity to see how the landscape changes from the Andean cloud forest to the jungle área. Hiking on beautiful well maintained original Inca trails and also we are going to visit. Phuyupatamarca (the town in the clouds). In the distance, you enjoy the view of the majestic Salkantay Mountain and Wakaywillka Mountain and of course the first views of Machu Picchu montaña and Huaynapicchu Mountain. After a delicious breakfast around 5:30 am we leave from the camp toward Phuyupatamarca 2 hours uphill hiking then two more hours downhill on the Inca flat trail. Once in Puyupatamarca, you have time to enjoy the views, and also we explore the beautiful archeological site of Puyupatamarca. After that we hike down on the curved Inca stairs to Intipata after 2 hours of the trek we reach to Intipata to explore the farming terraces and enjoying the magnificent views of the Urubamba River and its valleys then we go to the lunch spot at wiñayhuayna campsite to eat a delicious lunch. Siesta time after we got time for a siesta we go to explore Wiñaywayna Inka ruins. Then we go back to the camp to enjoy tea time and the last supper made by the camping chefs.

 DAY 4: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Today you will experience the magical moment to see Machupicchu. Early in the morning Wake up with hot coca tea served to your tent by the chefs to enjoy a delicious breakfast to be the first ones passing the last Inca trail checkpoint. Trekking to the sun gate through the amazing Trails built on the Cliffside of the steep Rocky Mountains covers on dense vegetation. Once we make to INTIPUNKU (sun gate), we have time to enjoy the magnificent view of the Inca cathedral MACHUPICCHU. Enjoy incredible views of a town made of stone built by ancient civilizations of the Peruvian Andes after we continue our trek to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu through the enclosures that used to function as access controls and ritual enclosures that the Incas used to use before arriving at Machu Picchu itself. Once at Machupicchu we get time for the classic and panoramic pictures. Once in Machupicchu, we get into to have the guided tour for 2.5 hours approx. afterward, the guide will let you go by yourselves to explore the vast Inca city such as the Inca Bridge, Huaynapicchu Mountain or Machu Picchu montaña if you book it in advance. After 6 – 7 hours in Machupicchu we take the bus down to Aguas Calientes town where we have time for lunch. Then you take a train at 18:20 for 1.5 hours to Ollantaytambo train station where our transfer will wait to transfer you to Cusco for two more hours by car. You will be back in Cusco around 10 pm.
